Skeet Ulrich is most likely remembered these days as “that guy from Scream,” which he is and has always been.
Ulrich didn’t dislike acting; on the contrary, he adored it. It was simply that he adored his children more.
Ulrich was up in a shattered household, having been kidnapped by his father and transported across the country for three years, only to end up living with his mother after his father vanished.
While Ulrich’s marriage to Georgina Cates ended in divorce when his children were only four years old, he couldn’t just sit back and let history repeat itself.
Skeet Ulrich and his wife had twins.

On March 9, 2001, Ulrich and his former wife Cates welcomed a set of gorgeous fraternal twins, Jakob and Naiia.
Ulrich and his wife were unable to reconcile their differences, and the two divorced in 2005. After everything was said and done, the father was awarded custody of the children. Sticking to acting would have allowed Ulrich to employ an army of nannies to look after and provide for his children. However, his hectic schedule meant he’d spend less time with his children.
It was necessary to make a choice.
To the uninitiated, Ulrich may appear to be a Hollywood flop — a trend that has passed him by. On the other hand, closer scrutiny revealed that his withdrawal was extremely deliberate.

Skeet Ulrich and his Children

During an interview with Fatherly, the actor explained that his decision to stay at home following his divorce with his wife and care for his children was a reaction to the circumstances in which he was raised.
I won’t go into the specifics of how I was raised or the lack of parental guidance I received, but I would never make my children feel unwanted.
The actor sought professional counseling as a young adult to help him sort out his sentiments concerning his formative years. But no matter how many times he ran through his early years, it never added up.
When he was through with the notion and realized that his childhood trauma could never be repaired, his analyst advised him that the experiences would only feel normal if he had children of his own.
He said, “I didn’t understand that when I was 23, but he was right.” “I get to relive my own upbringing in a different light and be the parent I never had.”
Since then, the actor has made it a point to only take on jobs that will keep him in Los Angeles, putting him at a disadvantage in his career.
Riverdale was the only occasion he claimed to have worked on a project outside of the City of Angels.
Ulrich also admitted to employing the services of a nanny. Even so, it was only the second time he’d had to do so.
“When I was doing the first season of Jericho, I hired a babysitter,” Ulrich revealed. “When I finished Law & Order, they were entering kindergarten, and I hired a nanny once more. That is all there is to it.”
In fact, it wasn’t until his children were eighteen that he began to investigate acting roles outside of Los Angeles.
