Huey Lewis, an American rock icon, was diagnosed with Meniere’s disease, an illness that damages the inner ear and causes hearing loss, in 2018.

Because he was a musician, the situation was very difficult for him. He hasn’t given up hope, though, thanks to the support of his family, children, and supporters.

His family has been his most significant support system and the reason he has fared successfully with his sickness since his diagnosis.

Lewis confessed in an interview with The Big Issue that his two children supported and helped him get through his illness. He claimed that his son became his best buddy and that he meticulously looked after him.

Furthermore, the musician admitted that, despite the fact that he was dealing with a serious illness, he was fortunate to have supportive children. He went on to say that there were those in worse situations than him.

Furthermore, his followers had been tremendously supportive, which was the best compliment an artist could receive.

Huey Lewis’ Divorce from His Wife Conroy

In 1983, Lewis married Sidney Conroy. He and his wife brought two children into their family: Kelly Lewis, a daughter, and Austin Lewis, a son. Their son was born in 1985, while their daughter was born in 1983.

Lewis’ marriage to his wife didn’t survive long, despite the fact that they had children. Their marriage lasted only six years after they married. Lewis and his ex-wife consider themselves “still mates” after their relationship ended amicably.

Lewis also revealed the cause behind their divorce. He was away from home for long periods of time when he was at the pinnacle of his profession. As a result, his wife was responsible for everything at home, including their two children.

When the interviewer inquired about Hamzy’s interaction with Lewis, she said, “Proceed with caution.” However, he has never accepted or refuted this piece of information.

He was in Dallas in January 2018 for a show with his band. While putting on his in-ear monitor, he suddenly found he couldn’t hear anything. He was diagnosed with Meniere’s illness after this episode. His hearing is affected by this issue and changes on a regular basis. His hearing is usually between 3 and 6 on a scale of 1 to 10.

Since his hearing had become severe, he indicated in February 2020 that his most recent album, Weather, might be his last.

“I’m trying to get my hearing back so we can get the band back together and play live,” he explained.

Lewis also stated that he was unsure if he could do it again. In the meanwhile, he said he was trying to stay as innovative as possible.
