Dominique Fishback, star of Judas and the Black Messiah, went on Instagram 48 hours before turning 30 and used her platform to inspire herself and her followers with encouraging quotations.

You Don’t Have to Be Perfect, Dom to Dom

Fishback, who was born on March 22, 1991, will turn 30 in 2021. The actress resorted to Instagram 48 hours before her birthday to share a series of stories inspiring herself for her trip into her 30s. Those stories are currently included in her Instagram highlights, specifically — 30 solar.

Fishback had gotten up early that morning and began her motivational posts. It was time for her to “reflect with the morning’s moon and then ponder with the night’s sun,” she wrote. “What do you do with 48 hours until you’re 30…” she asks at the end of her first chapter.

The stories that followed had cryptic messages that appeared to be a reminder of the lessons she had learnt and how to keep motivated. Her audience receives the same encouraging messages she does.

“Release dread of the unknown,” says the first of these messages. Fishback believes that one does not need to be perfect and that life should be lived as if one has only one chance.

Fishback continued to post sentences that were memorable and thought-provoking. She claims that nothing is as it appears at first glance, and that no one has everything figured out. The actress, who describes herself on Instagram as “the heroine with a thousand faces,” advised others to be themselves rather than hide behind a mask.

The 30-year-old had a few more things to say. She discusses love and heartbreak in the second part of her works. “When fantastic things happen around you, it’s okay to be in a terrible mood or feel upset,” the actress said.

Her comments then go on to talk about holding loved ones accountable, unconditional love, and how sometimes stern love is the finest love. In addition to inspiring messages, Fishback shared photos of her friends and family having fun. “Be yourself, love,” she concluded her motivational series with a simple yet powerful phrase.

She closed her motivational marathon for herself and her audience with that. Her family and friends were then invited to join in the birthday celebrations.

Fishback has received nine nominations and one award for her work as Deborah Johnson in Judas and the Black Messiah in 2021 alone, including a BAFTA nomination. Maria Bakalova, Niamh Algar, Ashley Madekwe, Koshar Ali, and Yuh-Jung have all been nominated for supporting actress.
