Paula White Cain, the first female clergy member to deliver the presidential inaugural invocation in 2017, has been married three times. Despite having married and divorced twice, she said she had never had a husband until she met Jonathan Cain, her third husband.
White talked about her unsuccessful marriages in an interview with Life Today TV. “I’ve been married before, but I never had a husband,” she said, emphasizing, “but (now) I have a husband.” The only reason White made such a comment is because her prior husbands failed to treat her properly.
Paula White’s Relationship with Her First Husband
White began dating her first husband Dean Knight, a local musician in Maryland, when she was just 19 years old. She found out she was expecting her first child in February 1985. After the pregnancy, White married Knight and gave birth to Bradley Knight, her only biological son, in November 1985.
Their marriage, on the other hand, took a turn for the worst when she discovered that her kid was being molested, possibly leading to his drug addiction. Because of the troubles in the household, she divorced Dean in 1989.
The Second Marriage of Paula White was Abusive
White met Randy White, a minister at the Damascus Church of God in Maryland, at a church after her divorce. Randy’s previous marriage, to Debra Ellis, had ended in 1989 as well. Because of their comparable circumstances, White married Randy in 1990 and became a stepmother to Randy’s three children.
Their marriage lasted over a decade because by 2003, both of them had undergone marital counseling. In another interview with Life Today TV, White described how Randy had put her in a terrible predicament.
Randy proposed to her on one of their anniversaries with an ultimatum that she would never accept. He also threatened her with losing everything if she did not accept the ultimatum: her family, ministry, wealth, and everything else. Following this, White and Randy announced their second divorce, this time in August 2007. However, they remained friendly after the divorce.
How did Paula White meet Jonathan Cain, her husband?
The evangelical pastor and her third husband originally met in July 2010 while flying to San Antonio, Texas on the same Southwest Airlines flight. She walked into the flight with a book in her hand and dropped it directly in front of Cain.

During the three-hour flight, this tiny incident generated a dialogue between the two, which led to their learning more about each other’s life. They talked about their lives, and White even prayed for Cain, who was at the time a “displaced Catholic.”
Their attraction became stronger with each passing day, and despite their 16-year age gap, they began dating.
The Marriage of Paula White and Jonathan Cain
White married Cain about four years after their initial encounter. In an October 2019 interview with Life Today TV, Cain disclosed that he and White had married three times. They tied the knot three times: once for the Father, once for the Son, and finally for the Holy Spirit, according to White.
They married in December 2014 during a trip to Ghana. White and Cain exchanged vows for the first time in a low-key ceremony officiated by one of White’s Pentecostal mentors. Then, in April 2015, they married in front of a large crowd at an Orlando hotel for the second time.
For the third marriage, no additional information is provided.
Affair with Paula White
When reports of White’s alleged affair with Evangelist Benny Hinn began to surface, she was thrust back into the spotlight. This was just before she met Jonathan Cain, her “true” spouse.
In July 2010, White was photographed holding hands with Benny Hinn on the streets of Rome. They apparently stayed in the same hotel room, according to reports. Following the story’s publication, White and Benny denied the charges, claiming that they were only friends.
