Journalist Elizabeth Cohen had a beautiful life, with a thriving career and a loving family all to herself. The family had more than just a love connection, as her husband’s supporting personality came to the fore when she had to prioritize her responsibilities during a significant crisis.

CNN has the middle-aged American journalist on their books. She works for CNN’s Health, Medical, and Wellness unit as a senior medical correspondent. Elizabeth began her career as an associate producer of the environmental program Green Watch at WLVI in Boston.

She has worked as a correspondent for States News Service and The Times Union in Albany, New York, in Washington, DC.

Her career took off in 1991 when she joined CNN following a brief stint on various local television networks.

She was employed by CNN to cover health and wellness issues that arise as a result of catastrophic disasters. She described the terrorist assaults of 9/11 with professionally and delivered updates from the Ground Zero recovery effort ten years after joining CNN.

Not only that, but she also organized a search party to find out what happened to the persons who went missing in lower Manhattan on September 11, 2001.

Apart from that, she covered the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina’s devastation in 2005 from a health perspective, as well as the oil spills in Mexico in 2010. Her contributions to the world of health and wellbeing have been recognized with numerous prizes and titles, including the Gracie Award (2008), Emmy Award (2005), and Hearts Award.

Elizabeth went to Liberia in 2014 to report on the Ebola outbreak. She has received the Outstanding Alumni Award from Columbia College in New York City and the Society of Professional Journalists’ Sigma Delta Chi Award.

Elizabeth was born into a Jewish family, with Charles A. Schwartz as her father and Sheila Fay as her mother. Her parents were both doctors, so she grew up with a strong interest in health and well-being.

Her family consists of two sisters, Pamela and Julia, and a brother, David, who she was born as one of four siblings. She graduated from Columbia College with a bachelor’s degree in history. After earning a master’s degree in public health, she continued her education at Boston University.

When America was attacked by one of the greatest terrorist attacks in history on September 11, 2001, her husband’s supporting character was revealed. Despite his concerns for her safety, her husband persuaded her to report the occurrence and assist the injured.

Elizabeth discussed her husband’s supporting behavior and how he encouraged her to report the news in a book called Women Journalists at Ground Zero: Covering Crisis.

Shir, her third daughter, was also the inspiration for her book THE EMPOWERED PATIENT. Shir was born with a serious medical issue that necessitated spinal taps. Her encounter with Shir inspired her to create the book and discover more about Shir’s illness.

Elizabeth appears to be a fortunate woman in that she has a loving family.
