Rodney Demery, an American television broadcaster and novelist, has seen sorrow not just in his family, but also in his personal life since both of his marriages failed. He is, however, moving on from his previous failure and savoring the blissful moments with his family.

The long-serving cop is well-known as the host of the crime documentary True Crime and the narrator of Investigation Discovery’s Murder Chose Me.

Rodney is a former detective with the violent crimes unit, where he spent 14 years as the main investigator and had a 100% confession and solution rate. In 2011, he published the Amazon best-selling book Things My Daughters Need to Know.

Rodney Demery’s Quick Biography: At A Young Age, A Family Tragedy

The seasoned investigator was born in the United States on December 27, 1966. He received his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Louisiana State University in 2004.

Rodney’s family history is littered with misfortunes. In 1969, when he was three years old, his mother Barbara was murdered by his father Jerry Armstead. The murderer, on the other hand, was accused without malice.

Rodney had to deal with another catastrophe in his life later in his twenties. Patrick, his brother, murdered a friend by stabbing him repeatedly. Rodney’s destiny was determined by those two events. Following a family tragedy as a child, he decided to pursue a career as a crime detective and solution.

Rodney’s Tragedy Was Overcome Through An Illuminating Career

Rodney began his military career in the Navy, a department of the US Armed Forces. He worked as a homicide detective for more than 16 years in the Louisiana area, starting in 1999. Sex crimes, burglary, armed robbery, and drug investigations have all been part of his law enforcement career.

He was assigned to the Judicial Court as a homicide screening and special investigator in 2016. In the same year, he began hosting Investigation Discovery’s crime films. Rodney is the author of many books, including the best-selling Things My Daughters Need to Know: A Cop and Father’s View of Sex, released in 2011, and No Place For Race: Why We Need to Address Economic and Social Factors That Are Crushing Us Every Day, published in 2012. (2013).

Rodney, despite his life’s misfortunes, currently enjoys both his professional and personal lives, as evidenced by his frequent posts on social media.

Rodney was devoted to his profession for a reason

The murder detective’s zeal for his job was enough to establish that his work as a homicide detective was always the most important part of his life.

He never ceased to astonish his coworkers over his fourteen years with the Shreveport Police Department. Some might be overworked as a result of his meteoric rise in the field. He, on the other hand, knew better than to take a break.

Rod took refuge in his devotion to his job, which ranged from focusing on a case for 72 hours without a break to devoting his time to the investigation nonstop. He was too satisfied to work on repairing his marriage. He lovingly recalls the passion that motivated him to work now that he is retired.

During those years, marriage–and very nothing else–attracted my attention. I’m sure some people can work homicide while maintaining other responsibilities, but I couldn’t… But I was a case solver. That provided me with everything I was looking for: God’s command, identity, self-actualization, clarity, and calm. However, his own family’s horrific history of killing continues to haunt him. He wouldn’t deny that the intriguing occurrence was one of the reasons he was so determined to bring justice to the situation.

Rodney has been married twice; both of his marriages did not work out, and he was divorced both times. He is, nonetheless, content and approaches his work as a single focus. He believes that while he focused on his work, his wife received less attention.

The 52-year-old is the proud father of nine children and spends considerable time with them, as evidenced by his social media accounts. On May 6, 2018, he posted a photo of his children with his friends on Facebook.

Similarly, on June 8, 2018, he shared a photo of his family having fun on Instagram. He put a caption on how much he loves his family and how there is no place like home. Rodney is undoubtedly relishing his time as a single parent with his children.
