Tim Matheson, an American actor who began his profession as a teenager, has charmed audiences for the past 50 years. The seasoned actor is still going strong on and off the screen, perhaps best recognized for his performance of Eric “Otter” Stratton in the 1978 comedy.
How Did Matheson’s Professional Career Began?
At the age of 13, Matheson began his acting career in Robert Young’s CBS nostalgia comedy series Window on Main Street (1961-1962). He next played Mike Harmon in two episodes of Leave It to Beaver during the 1962–1963 season, following his debut.
Matheson’s schedule became busier by the day as he gained notoriety. He portrayed Jonny Quest’s voice in the Jonny Quest (1964) series and also played the oldest son in Yours, Mine, and Ours (1968), when he met his first wife, Jennifer Leak, since they were co-stars in the movie. In 1969, he joined the eighth season of the television show The Virginian, and in 1973, he appeared in the film Magnum Force. Then, in 1976, Matheson co-starred in the NBC series The Hunt with Kurt Russell.
