Most celebrities love to brag about their lavish weddings and whirlwind relationships, but Matt Bomer, star of The Sinner, isn’t one of them. The actor wants to keep his personal life out of the public eye. As a result, few people are aware of the actor’s relationship with his husband, Simon Halls.

Yes, for almost a decade, Bomer has been married to the Hollywood publicist. The couple met in 2008, when Halls was hired as Bomer’s publicist, according to sources. They hit it off right away and began dating soon after.

In 2011, they married in a small ceremony in New York, which the Magic Mike actor confirmed to Out magazine in 2014.

“It was incredibly relaxing.” It’s a tiny group: only our closest friends and family. There’s a sense of safety and authenticity in knowing it’s legal. It’s difficult to express. It’s just a sensation, I guess, something about exchanging vows in front of loved and supportive family and friends. “I believe it was beneficial to our family,” Bomer said to the publication.

Matt Bomer’s Husband: Who Is He?

The couple kept their relationship a secret until 2012, when the actor came out as gay and honored his husband during his acceptance speech for the Steve Chase Humanitarian Award. Halls, for those who are unaware, is just as successful as Bomer, albeit in a different industry.

Halls is an accomplished publicist who began his career with Warner Bros. and later spent two years working for the first McDonald’s in Russia before relocating to Los Angeles. Following that, he began managing actors, including A-listers like Jude Law, Sarah Jessica Parker, and the Coen brothers.

The publicist went on to co-found two public relations businesses in Hollywood, Huvane Baum Halls and Slate PR. In 2001, Huvane Baum Halls joined with PMK, and Slate PR became the premier public relations firm in the entertainment business.

Ryan Murphy, John Wells, Neil Patrick Harris, Annette Bening, Frances McDormand, and other celebrities are represented by Slate PR. During Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign, his outstanding performance earned him a spot on the Entertainment Council.

Is Matt Bomer a father?

Naturally, Bomer and his husband started a family after they married. The couple’s three sons are the couple’s current offspring.

Kit Halls, their oldest son, was born via surrogate in 2005 and, like Bomer, is a keen admirer of the San Francisco 49ers. In 2019, the actor claimed that when their oldest kid was 14, he came out to them as straight.

“Our eldest came out as straight to us. He’s 14 years old. ‘I admire and respect that you people be who you are,’ he remarked. I’m a straight guy. That’s how I’d describe myself.’ And that was a tremendous, lovely, sweet thing at the time,” Bomer remarked.

Henry and Walker Halls, the youngest twins, were born via surrogate in 2008, just like their older brother. Because of their age, Bomer and his husband keep the twins out of the spotlight, however Henry did accompany Bomer for the 2019 Tony Awards.

The actor told People in 2015 that he wanted his children to experience a regular childhood, similar to his own. He didn’t want them on stage anytime soon, to be honest.
