On June 12, 2022, Netflix officially announced Squid Game would return for season 2.

On September 17, 2021, the futuristic survival thriller from South Korea debuted and captivated audiences around. With 1.65 billion view hours in its first 28 days of availability, it was the most popular series Netflix had ever launched. If you haven’t seen it, the show centers on a group of 456 adults who are given the opportunity to compete in a number of games for the chance to win money that would let them pay off their debts.

Squid Game left its season one conclusion somewhat open, allowing lots of possibility for season 2. Most Korean dramas typically have one season with 12 to 24 episodes. Of course, fans were ecstatic at the news, but no one was more ecstatic than MrBeast, the extravagantly generous YouTube celebrity.

Can you make the challenges simpler to complete in real life this time? the YouTuber tweeted in response to Netflix. Haha.”

‘Squid Game’ Teaser from MrBeast Take Action

We need to take a brief detour in order to comprehend MrBeast’s tweet. For those unfamiliar with the Squid Game, the YouTuber, who is known for holding large-scale YouTube tournaments, devised a real-life version.

Hwang Dong-Hyuk, the designer of the Squid Game, gave his duplicate of everything, including the sets and costumes, his blessing. Similar to the show, he selected 456 random contestants to take part in a tournament with a $456,000 cash prize as the reward. In his interpretation, when a player was eliminated, no one was slain.

According to MrBeast, the video’s production cost over $3.5 million, a pittance when compared to Netflix’s $21.4 million. But just because the YouTuber saved money doesn’t necessarily imply it had less of an impact.

Up until Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars, the replica broke the record for the most views a video had received on YouTube in a 24-hour period. And following the premiere of season 2, Mr. Beast will undoubtedly bring his recreation to fans, if his tweet is any indication.

Mr. Beast Is Interested in Playing “Squid Game: The Challenge”

Squid Game: The Challenge, a reality competition series in which contestants will have the opportunity to compete, is another way that Netflix is bringing Squid Game to life. A total of 456 genuine players will participate in the game and compete in a number of games based on the original show as well as brand-new ones in an effort to win the $4.56 million grand prize.

Netflix made the announcement that it was looking for people to register for the games on June 14, 2022. And MrBeast was one such fan who expressed a strong interest in taking part. He tweeted Netflix, pleading to be included in one of the challenges. Many of the YouTuber’s followers defended him, saying that even if he chose not to apply for the program, Netflix should still welcome him to join the production team.
