Petri Hawkins-Byrd is a devout family man who adores his wife and children. Unfortunately, there was a moment when this family man’s marriage to his wife was on the verge of collapse. Thankfully, the couple took measures to reconcile their differences and eventually made it work.
Hawkins-Byrd, a Brooklyn native, is best known for her role as Bailiff on the Emmy Award-winning court show Judge Judy. He is a stand-up comedian and has voiced several commercials, TV shows, video games, and radio shows in addition to Judge Judy.
Biographical Information, Professional Experience, and Family
Petri Adonis Byrd was born on November 29, 1957, in Jacksonville, North Carolina, to a family of five siblings. He is currently 63 years old. His father was a drug dealer who spent his life in and out of prison and rehab.
Aside from his father, he is close to his mother and siblings, and he frequently posts images of them on Instagram. School, movies, and TV shows were his escapes as a kid. He went to Hostos Community College after graduating from Southwest High School.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 1989.
From courtrooms to television shows, he’s traveled a long way. He served as a court officer in the Brooklyn Family Court system during his tenure at John Jay. In 1986, he worked for numerous judges in the Manhattan Family Court System, including Judge Sheindlin.
In 1990, he moved to California to work as a Special Deputy for the United States Marshall after graduating from John Jay. He accepted an opportunity to work as a counselor at Monta Vista High School after three years.
In 1995, he sent a letter congratulating Judge Scheindlin on her new book and future TV show, which changed his life. Judge Sheindlin responded with a phone call and a job offer after he joked about wanting to work with her again.
And that’s how he landed his breakthrough role as a bailiff on Judge Judy!

Once upon a time, their happy marriage was jeopardized
Hawkins’ love life is the result of a series of second chances. Petri has a family of six, including four children, with his wife Felicia. However, their relationship hit a rough patch in 1989, and the pair split up. His family relocated to the West Coast, including his wife and children.
However, the couple still had affection for each other, prompting them to seek cross-country treatment. And that turned out to be a wise decision. Petri and his wife reconciled after five months of counseling. Since then, they’ve been together.
The caring husband has also shown to be an excellent father, as he is really close to his children. He also wrote a nice poem for them to express his feelings for them. The touching poem, which he dedicated to his grandchildren, will undoubtedly be passed down through the centuries.

Net Worth and Salary
Hawkins-Byrd has a net worth of $3.5 million dollars. Given that he has worked in a number of sectors, this sum is hardly surprising.
He’s spent his entire career in courtrooms, serving as a subordinate officer to a counselor and appearing in TV shows, videogames, and films. However, his 25-year stint on Judge Judy is probably the source of the majority of his profits.
He received an estimated average compensation of $1 million per year only from the TV show.
After Season 25, ‘Judge Judy’ comes to an end
Judge Judy is putting down its hammer for the last time after 25 years on the air. Judith Sheindlin, on the other hand, will be back in the courtroom and on our television screens with Judy Justice. The new show is set to premiere sometime in late 2021 or early 2022.
The show was reportedly renewed for 120 episodes. Given how influential Judge Judy was, this is unsurprising. We can only presume that Hawkins-Byrd, who worked alongside Sheindlin on Judge Judy for around 12,500 cases, will return as the bailiff on Judy Justice.
