Willie Edwards, a native alligator hunter who navigates Louisiana’s Atchafalaya River Basin in search of apex predators in the landscape, faces numerous perils on a daily basis.

Given his profession, the cast member of the hit TV show Swamp People has faced many obstacles in his life, but none more so than the loss of his daughter. However, owing to his two sons and a caring wife, the brave hunter has been able to cope with the catastrophe.

For More Than Two Decades, Willie Edwards Has Been Married

Since sharing the wedding vows on August 20, 2000, the star-cast of the hit hunting survival show, Swamp People, has been married to his wife, Sherrie’ Bonin’ Edwards. On their individual Facebook pages, fans can get a glimpse into their almost two-decade-long marriage, which shows the two enjoying one other’s company.

For example, on January 23, 2019, Willie’s wife posted a photo on Facebook of the two of them together. Sherrie also applied a photo filter that said “Some Love Lasts A Lifetime” and “True Love Lasts Forever” in the same photo.

Additionally, on their 20th wedding anniversary, August 20, 2020, Sherrie tweeted a photo from their wedding with a heartfelt note congratulating her best friend, spouse, and life partner — Willie. She went on to say that she grows to love her spouse every day and that she could not have found a finer man with whom to share her life.

Happy 20th Wedding Anniversary to my dearest friend, incredible husband, and life partner! Every day, I become fonder of you! I couldn’t have chosen a greater man with whom to share my life! …
While the alligator hunter isn’t as active on Facebook as Sherrie, the majority of his posts are photographs of his adored wife.

Willie and Sherrie had to deal with a terrible tragedy as parents

Michaela Deshaye, the couple’s first child, is a lovely little girl. Unfortunately, they lost their daughter due to an unfortunate accident. It’s unclear what happened, but Sherrie’s post from October 28, 2020, indicates that the parents are mourning their daughter Michaela Deshaye, who would have turned 20 on that date.

They were blessed with their sons, William IV (Lil Willie), 18 as of 2020, and Landon, 16 as of 2020, after the heartbreaking loss of their daughter.

Every chance she gets, the American hunter’s wife proudly displays photos of her family. Sherrie shared a sweet photo of her sons when they were still babies on September 23, 2018.

She also filmed the occasion with the proud father and son on May 18, 2019, when the oldest son, William IV, graduated from high school. But that isn’t Willie’s eldest son’s sole accomplishment. William is following in his father’s footsteps and has even made an appearance on the 11th season of his show.

The four-member family is now living in Bayou Sorrel, Louisiana, shooting deer, wild hogs, and fishing alligators, and has moved on from the tragic event.
