Joseph Gatto, the late, wasn’t one of the practical jokers

After news of another Joseph Gatto’s death appeared in The Los Angeles Times, speculations of Joe Gatto’s death began to circulate.
The only thing the homicide victim and the beloved comedian had in common was their names.

Joseph Gatto was a teacher, an artist, and the father of three children, including state assemblyman Mike Gatto and Marianna Gatto, the director of the Italian-American Museum of Los Angeles.

In 2013, he was fatally shot at his home in Silver Lake, Los Angeles, during an apparent home invasion robbery.

All Confusion is Cleared by the Age Gap

Joe Gatto, of the Impractical Jokers, was born on June 5, 1976, while the deceased Joe Gatto was born in the early 1930s. He was only 37 years old at the time of his death, while the latter was 78.

As a result, the age difference serves as a clear demarcation between the two. And, as if that weren’t enough, the Comedian is a New York native who still lives there, whereas Gatto lived in Los Angeles.
In contrast to the disparities, the Gattos’ consternation is understandable. Both the New York comic and the Los Angeles instructor were artists, and both had a daughter.

Joe Gatto, star of “Impractical Jokers,” is still alive and well

The American comedian is still alive. In reality, he has been aggressively advancing his profession. The film is based on the true story of how the stars of ‘Impractical Jokers’ were dispatched on the road to compete in hidden-camera challenges for the chance to redeem three of the four jokers.

In late August 2020, the New York native, who urges followers to adopt pets from shelters, wrote and published a book titled The Dogfather. The book provided a firsthand peek into his life as the alpha male of the Gatto Pups, his rescue canine pack.

The book is a lighthearted retelling of Gatto’s experiences of growing up as an Italian, his fondness for desserts, and his adoption of dogs.  All of his canines are called after desserts: Cannoli, Biscotti, Tartufo, Zeppole, Spumoni, Pignoli, Napoleon, and Mishkan, to mention a few.
