After six seasons on NCIS as agent Laselle, the actor announced his departure from the show, leaving fans heartbroken.
On November 6, 2019, Black tweeted a video thanking his followers for their unwavering support and expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to play a special agent.
The actor said in the video:
“I wanted to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your love and support… You were there to congratulate me on my accomplishments and to support me when I needed it, and I appreciate that.”

Black put his family ahead of his career
His role, special agent Lasalle, was well-liked, and fans of the show were inquisitive as to what prompted him to leave. As rumors spread, the F9 actor revealed in a video posted to the NCIS: New Orleans YouTube account that his decision to leave the program was motivated by his desire to spend more time with his wife Maggie O’Brien and their children.

CCH Pounder, one of his co-stars, also came forward to confirm the news while expressing her support. According to Pounder,
“The growing up of becoming a movie star, and this, and that… ‘That’ most important thing is to be a family guy, and I think he’s chosen that over all the other options.”
