Six months prior to Fisher’s passing, Fayed had proposed to her. He used money from his father to purchase a home in Malibu after they got engaged. Before he dumped her for the princess, they were set to wed on August 9 of that year.

It was up to Fayed’s father to break the news to her that he had dumped her after he figuratively dumped her at the altar.

He was being sued by her for contract violation. According to the lawsuit, Fayed allegedly offered Fisher $500,000 in exchange for giving up her modeling job in America and relocating to Paris so they could spend more time together.

He asserted that the fact that the model, who appeared on the covers of Elle and W, was employed was embarrassing for the family. She had to give up her career since he broke his commitments to do so.

Like the rest of the world, Fisher learned about Fayed’s romantic involvement with Princess Diana from the well-known photograph known as “The Kiss,” in which the royal and the heir were seen sharing a kiss on Fayed’s yacht.

By testifying in the inquest into Princess Diana’s death in 2007, Fisher would reopen old wounds. In the courtroom, Fayed’s father gave Fisher a bad impression, among other things labeling her a gold-digger.

He insisted that Dodi Al-Fayed and Princess Diana were very much in love and disputed that they were engaged. Fisher was forced to participate in the investigation and reiterate her status as Fayed’s fiancée.
